[Tutorial] HubSpot General Settings Walkthrough

As a new HubSpot user it is important that the first thing you do is to set up your General Settings page, doing this will determine how you use the platform going forward. Simply put, setting up this page helps organize your day to day activities, such as setting calendar, emails, calls, tasks, reminders etc. as well as setting up your dashboard view.

Setting up your General Settings can be done either of two (2) ways.

This tutorial will walk you the steps needed to have your General settings tailored to fit your daily activities.

In General Settings,  there are five main areas, Profiles, Emails, Calling, Calendar, and Tasks.

Gen Set 1

Profile

The Profile tab allows you to include your image and set your first and last name. This will be important when using tools like meeting links and templates in HubSpot.

Gen Set 2

You can also set your language, country, and preferred time zone defaults.

Your phone number is important as it can be used in workflows, templates and automated emails.

Gen Set 3-1

Default View or (Default) in HubSpot is important for one main reason. It allows the user, based on their role, to set the view they want to see when they log in via their desktop. this can be everything from activity feeds, ads, tasks, deals, web pages, etc.

Example: When sales professionals log in to HubSpot in the morning, the first thing they can see is their Tasks, so they stay on top of their day and be more productive.

Once you've made your adjustments, click SAVE.

Email

The other tab would be Email.

This is where you set up your email inbox. You can view how to get that done HERE.

Gen Set 4

Once completed, the other thing you would need to do is set up your email signature.

Calling

Calling represents the use of connected apps to make or receive calls. Some of these apps are AirCall, Zoom, Twillo, Etc.

Note: HubSpot users from the Caribbean, this feature isn't available, but you can use apps like what we listed above to activate this feature.
