Don't Rush the Sale

One thing I've learned in my many years of sales is to avoid going immediately into selling mode when a customer says "I Want Your Product / Services!" Instead it is recommended that we stay in our questioning mode and start our discussion to determine exactly what the customer wants.

Here is one approach I would take;

Me: Thank you for your interest. 1. What product / service are you using now? 2. What made you interested in our service? 3. How soon would you like to start using our products / service? 4. Are you tied to any contract?

There are many more questions that can be included but these are just some examples that can be used.

Yes, in sales we always get excited by this type of customer however, it’s important to make sure that we have an understanding of the customer’s needs.

Their interest may be due to misinformation so it’s important not to jump into the sale but rather create a great customer experience.
